Jean Paul Gaultier was inspired by Amy House. The beehives and eyeliner were ever so present. This quite an extravagant collection not for the faint of heart. Some winners, some losers! I am not sold and neither was her dad.

While I love the gowns seen throughout this collection, I must admit I really love those haute hats and make-up. From pastels to rich colors, this collection is vibrant. My favorites are the flowy purple, and blue gowns, and I absolutely adore the orange shirt and skirt look, blush dress, and coral lace dress with nude peeking out. I'm sad to report that there were some looks that didn't please me like the jackets restructured as a dress or the shiny orange dress with sheer elements .

The L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center hosted "An Evening" that benefited homeless youth services and selected the stylish Rachel Zoe as their honoree. So you know she looked haute (at least to some) while receiving her award as did other dolls and gents attending the benefit.

The honoree wore an interesting dress with one sleeve and collar then accessorized with a clutch and wedge boots. Stepping outside the box, her dress had a front button closure consisting of 6 buttons. The material looked interesting too. From the picture, I can't tell what it is. Upon first glance, I thought "what is this velvet?" Its different to say it mildly. Either you'll love it or hate it. No in between on this one.

The question is is she haute or not? Well according to Who What Wear, sheer sleeves are trendy now: however, I don't think they had this in mind when they made that statement. I am just not feeling this gown mostly because of those gaudy sheer sleeves. They are definitely too much for me. What do you think?

As we all may know, the Golden Globes took place last night. Congratulations to all the winners! How lucky are you! To me, the most important part of the night was the fashion. Who wore what? And who looked haute?

Well after careful consideration my favorite looks from the night were Leia Michelle in Marchesa, Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci, Charlize Theron in Christian Dior, and Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang.

But those 4 dolls werent the only haute dolls on the red carpet, these dolls looked haute as well.

There were some dolls that I didnt know if I loved or hated their looks, but round of applaud for their efforts though!

There were some dolls who wore dresses that did not flatter them. Tsk Tsk!

My least favorite looks come from Mary J. Blige, Madonna, and Sara Michelle Gellar.

And the cutest thing on the red carpet was Ariel Winter in Dolce and Gabbana!

IFB Project #29: Start a 365 Photo Project

With the new year, comes a time of reflection. A time for us to put our dreams and goals down. Well as you saw in my previous post (Thought I Would Share My Vision Boards), I created 2 vision boards. And while most of my goals were geared toward health, wedding/marriage, and fashion, one of my goals was to work on photography. Hence the picture of Angelina Jolie posing with a camera. Well to my delight, I randomly found a DVD last night that dealt with taking better pictures with your DSLR Camera. Then today, I find this project on Independent Fashion Bloggers that wants you to take a picture everyday for the entire year. It must be fate! I guess its time I start working on my goal. Woo hoo! I am super duper excited.

Me being the science geek that I am, I need a protocol or plan of action on how I am going to accomplish this goal. So the first thing I am going to do is create a page on Pearls and Peacocks to house all of my pictures. Next up, decide on my subject matter. I'll be honest, it won't be all fashion related; however, it is my belief that fashion is art come to life so all of my pictures will try to capture the art in life. Rather its a snowy day or a stripped shirt that I am in love with. My camera and phone will come every where. Thirdly, I must start and un be knowing to me, I started when I sent my boss a picture of the snowfall.

So all in all, I am really excited, and I think you should start one too!

Angela Simmons was seen shopping in quite an unusual shopping (at least for shopping that is)

Haute or not? This really shouldn't be a question. There are so many adjectives that come to mind: street walker, whore, slutty, tacky, trashy, wack! Unfortunately, Ms. Simmons' dare to be different only landed her on the worst dressed list. This is just too much! I am not sure if she was inspired by Pretty Woman, but Julia Roberts didn't look this bad. This studded jacket paired with a red/white corset paired with a blue mini paired with semi-nude thigh highs with black trimmings paired with black socks paired with a wedged Jodeci boot is just not haute. She needs to wipe the smile of her face because you are not winning in this look. I am not sure if I have ever despised a look as much as I do this one. Stop trying to be haute! It should come off effortlessly not like you are trying so hard.

As we are immersed in the bitter cold of winter, we cling to thoughts of spring. A time where we can put our sweaters up and rock our spring attire. With only a few months left of winter, now is the time to prep for spring.

First, you should envision your signature look for the spring and read up on the trends of the season like the Spring 2012 Fashion Color Report brought to you by Pantone.

According to Pantone, designers were inspired by a plethora of things and gave you variety of looks ranging "from free and playful and light and breezy to contemporary classics. Colors likewise reflected these differing moods, encapsulating vivid brights, soft muted tones, and fun-loving pastels."

Hi dolls and gents,

To all my fashion enthusiasts and celebrants of the art, there is a new exhibit on the horizon that intends to celebrate the history of Louis Vuitton and the creative direction of Marc Jacobs during his tenure there.

Following the close of Fashion Week in Paris (Feb. 28- March 27), Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris will launch a haute fashion and textile exhibit for enthusiasts around the world who adore Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton. An exhibit that will showcase the legacy of Louis Vuitton on the first floor and the influence of Marc Jacobs (on Louis Vuitton) on the second floor. The fashion and textile exhibit aims to answer the question "How have they managed to fit into their respective time to innovate and advance an entire industry? How these two men, with their own language did they appropriate the phenomena and cultural codes in order to write the history of fashion?"

The driving force behind this exhibit is Pamela Golbin, fashion author and museum curator of fashion and textile. Goldbin's idea was to show how Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacob impacted their world. To show how Louis Vuitton influenced the industrializing 19th century and Marc Jacobs the globalization era. From the preview material, "Its a tale of French craftsmanship, technological progress, stylistics creation, and artistic collaboration."

So for all my fashion geeks, be sure to visit Paris and experience the brilliance of Marc Jacobs and the luxury of Louis Vuitton like never before. Enjoy the craftsmanship behind the Louis Vuitton trunks and relish in the designs of Marc Jacobs during his 15 year allegiance to the iconic house.

This collection definitely screams hipster or the more fashionable adjective, boho chic. Something a modern day flower child would love to put her hands on. Would I die to have this collection? No, but there are some pieces I love like the printed shorts, flowy tanks, head wraps, chic glasses, and tunic. My favorites just happened to be the sheer printed kimono and black maxi dress.

So I found a new blog, Street Peeper, and essentially it posts stylish looks seen on the streets. Well today I saw a post, Louis Vuitton Prints, and a stylish doll by the name of Caroline rocked a pair of blue printed LV pjs with a chic clutch and strappy sandals. How haute is that?

Pjs out in the daytime paired with heels is so unique to me. I would have never thought to do that., but thats not to say I dont have my own choice of atypical clothing. I, myself, love to wear swimsuit cover ups throughout the year (even if B hates it). In my closet now, you'll find my cover ups hanging right next to my cardigans. =)
