make it work; the introduction
Hi dolls and gents,
I went to Borders in search of June Ambrose’s book, Effortless Style. In case any of you were wondering, she’s my idol. She is innovative, imaginative, and incredible. Her work is legendary. Ever since I discovered she was the stylish mastermind behind Jay-Z, I’ve been a loyal fan.
Anywho, I digress. Sadly, I have to report I didn’t find the book. After searching and searching in a disorganized, chaotic Fashion section, I stumbled across this fun gem, Make It Work! In short, it’s a fashion lover’s journal. The idea behind the book is to explore fashion and see what it means to you. With three goals in mind (express yourself, document ideas, be inspired), the book intends to make you understand the Coco Chanel quote “I don’t do fashion. I am fashion.” Hopefully, by the time I finish this book, I can say “I eat, breath, and live fashion. Fashion is my second skin, a part of me, and without it, I cease to live.”
