all about me (the week of may 20th)
Woo hoo! I am very excited about this week. By this time next week, I will be 31. It will be the 1 year Anniversary of my 30th birthday. LOL! Last year as I was approaching 30, I had somewhat of a mild mid-life crisis. Ironically, I had one when I approached 25 as well. Something about those milestone birthdays really get to me. Anywho, this year I am fine. I’ve calmed down a little and am looking forward to the rest of my 30s. This year I am re-accessing my life goals and working toward completing my vision board. Primarily, I want to finish the book I have in my head and grow Pearls and Peacocks. I want to focus on my family and grow as a person too. So for the rest of the year, that’s my goal. Oh and to stop procrastinating and think of everything as a blessing. Every little thing that bothers me is simply a gift in disguise. Hopefully, this mantra will stay in the forefront of my mind.
In case you were wondering, I have no real birthday plans. B and I want to go to MJ’s restaurant for our bday but that’s about it. I started my 31 things to do before I turn 31 list so that I could have fun. I’m not sure I will finish it, but it has been fun thus far tackling the list.
Headed to the Beverly Tour
On my 31 Things To Do List, I planned to see The Great Gatsby, go bowling, take a walking tour of Beverly (neighborhood in Chicago), work on my Go Mighty Task, and paint butterflies. So guess what? That’s what I am doing this week. I started yesterday with the tour and bowling. I even began with the background for my butterfly picture. Today, I am dragging the mister to the show, and we are finally going to watch all 2 hours (and some change) of this movie. I hope I love it as much as I think I will. Oh, and I plan to finish up my 31 random facts on Instagram. If you haven’t been following, check them out and follow me (@kanaej).
Oh and let’s not forget, that this week is also the birthday of my favorite little person. He turns 4 this week, and I am so excited. Cake and ice cream this week for me. Clearly, I am such a big kid at heart.
P.S. I love birthday cakes and very tempted to get one this year. Here is last year’s cake!
P.S.S. I can’t get this song out of head from The Great Gatsby Soundtrack
