bookworm review: escaping reality (the secret life of amy bensen)
I am so happy that I received this book from NetGalley. This was my first time reading a book by Lisa Jones, and I can honestly say that it won’t be my last. I just read 5 erotica books in a row and was unsure if this book would hold my attention. I wasn’t sure if there would be enough hot, steamy sex scenes with a hot Alpha billionaire, but to my surprise, I did enjoy this book. I loved how Jones mixed hot sex with a great story line. Who knew sex and mystery were a perfect pair?
It’s not often that a book keeps me guessing and not knowing what would happen by the end of the book, but this book did.
After reading it, I still need to know:
#1 Can the real Amy Bensen please stand up?
#2 Who the hell is her handler?
#3 What’s up with that shady Meg and that shady company, Evernight?
#4 Has she met Jared before?
And that cliffhanger………
I need the sequel to come out like yesterday. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to know the answers to my questions. I hope Liam isn’t the bad guy. He’s hot, rich, and protective.
He says such things like:
“We’d make beautiful babies”
“Run to me, Amy, not from me.”
“….I don’t let those people in. You’re in Amy.” (swoon)
“Sharks only have the power you give them, baby. Own them. Don’t ever let them own you. And they’ll have to fight me to get to you.” (YES! Fight for me!)
Liam had me at hello or was it when he said “and now we can both have a taste of what the rest of the night will hold” after he went down on her. Or when he said “I’m going to take you to my room now, and fuck you until neither of us can walk anymore.
Anywho, I give this book 4 stars. I can’t wait to see what Amy finds on her trip to the Lone Star State, what happens with Liam, and who the handler is.
