Can you believe that this is my first Mother’s Day? How freaking awesome! I’m kinda giddy about it. And just like most new moms, I want a parade held in my honor. A big to do. Awesome gifts. And lots of gratitude and congratulatory remarks. I’m thinking money. I’m thinking Kate Spade. I’m thinking breakfast in bed. I’m thinking sky’s the limit when it comes to honoring P’s mom for the first time. I hope B is reading this so he can get some ideas. I know he is extremely last minute, and for that reason alone, I’ve decided to come up with 5 easy things for him to get me for Mother’s Day.
#1 Leaving me the f alone. That’s right. All I really want is some me time. Don’t ask me anything. Treat me to silence. I want a one woman island with no visitations. Okay, maybe some small visits from P because who can resist that sweet face. But mostly, I just want a day where it’s just me, myself, and I and all about me. Is that wrong?
#2 I’m always hungry so yes I’ll take some scrambled eggs with cheese and pancakes made with your little hands, but please note that I’m also good with you going to pick it up from one of our favorite breakfast places. Oh, and don’t forget to grab lunch and dinner while you are at it.
#3 A cute card telling me how awesome I am. Yes, I am permitted to be vain on this day. Let me live!
#4 When in doubt, one of my favorite m’s will do. Money or a massage. Or M &Ms. I’m into the plain pack now but the yellow bag will do too.
#5 A day where whatever I say goes. LOL! So load that dishwasher mister……
But in all seriousness, I just want to say Happy Mother’s Day to each and every one of you! You’re awesome! You’re special! You rock! And just remember Mom Life is the Best!
