Yes! Yes! Yes! It’s August, and all my emails keep reminding me of two things:
1. Fall is on the way; and
2. It’s time to do some back to school shopping
I’m so excited. As a kid, this was my favorite time of the year. As a mom, this is my favorite time of the year. Back to school shopping is the best thing ever. I love Fall! I love layers! I love sweaters. I love denim and leather jackets. And now, I can wear them all. And now, my kids can too.
As an adult who has a mortgage, car note, and bills, I need to start being savvier with my money, which means I need to spend wisely. So that got me to thinking that maybe I should create a capsule collection for both my kids. That means finding pieces that can be reworked to create numerous outfits. Working smarter and not harder, I’m thinking of sticking with the same color palette. For P, its not hard. Her favorite color is pink and purple. For H, I had to think a little bit. Given that his dad is a pretty boy, I try to dress him in red. Given his middle name and my love of grey, he’s always in grey. And with that in mind, I went to Gap and Target, my two favorites, to find pieces that I can use multiple ways. So here we are, the blueprint of H’s capsule collection.
