O-M-G! I freaking loved these books, absolutely loved them. It’s been such a long time since I’ve read a book that I really loved, and I was starting to wonder if I was still a die-hard fan of the genre. But I’m glad I’ve gave this series a chance; these books made me fall in love with this genre all over again. I give it 5 stars over and over again!
My Brother’s Fiance (Books 1-2) by Odette Stone Review:
Fist let me say, Jackson has to be one of my favorite male book characters. He’s right up there with Andrew! Anywho, Jackson really pulled at my heart strings. A tough guy afraid of love due to his past. Hot and strong. Dedicated to the Navy but utterly lost when it comes to love!
Emily! Oh Emily! The semi-socially awkward Emily tried to resist Jackson but the heart wants what the heart wants. Jackson, the stoic Navy Seal, tried to walk away so many times and avoid the inevitable for the sake of Emily’s happiness! She was truly a gem! I wanted her to overcome, stand up for herself, explore love, and find her happily ever after.
There were so many memorable moments in these books. From Emily and Jackson’s first encounter to her professing her love to a man who didn’t know how to receive her love. I loved this couple, and their journey to ever after.
5 stars
I literally finished both book 1 and 2 in a few days. I could not put my kindle down. From the start, it was a great read. Broken into 2 parts, My Brother’s Fiancé was worth all the time it took for me to devour this sappy romance book. I felt love, disdain, betrayal. I smiled, cried, and strongly disliked a few mean girls and a trifling guy.
I just wanted them to be. Forget the ex girlfriend and boyfriend, his horrid upbringing, and any other obstacles.
Book 1 ended in a cliffhanger so you must read both parts to enjoy and fall in love with timid Emily and strong-willed Jackson.
This was a book I would reread over and over again whenever I was in a sappy mood and wanted to emerge myself in a world of love and romance and happily ever afters. And let me be honest, I’ve read it twice since last December. Each time was better than the last! I still love these two, and I know you will too.
Well written. Great character development. If you love romance books, this is a must read. Lots of tender moments, heroic moments.
I can’t say how much I enjoyed both books. This was my first time really reading a military romance, and I was pleasantly shocked. Book 1 was set in NYC; however, Book 2 took place on a Virginian military base. A little taboo romance. A lot of feels! A lot of words that capture your imagination and place you right there with Emily and Jackson!
